Crossfire reviews “Stand Up and Be Counted”<\/h1>\n

They keep coming! Crossfire<\/strong> webzine from Germany reviewed<\/a> our first release and
\nhere it is…obviously translated.<\/p>\n

Fancy some traditional metal? Then you should at least give Obscurus Rex a listen.<\/p>\n

The band was formed in 2021 and serves up a set of four tracks with their EP “Stand Up And Be Counted.”<\/p>\n

As far as I can tell from the names, the quartet hails from Greece. At least for me, lead singer Manos Xanthakis took some getting used to during the first three listens, sounding a bit like Blaze Bayley (ex-Iron Maiden) when he was still with his old band Wolfsbane.<\/p>\n

However, when the frontman drifts into melodic parts, like in the chorus of the song “Your Enemy Tonight,” he is more than adequate.<\/p>\n

A notable feature is that the band delivers rather long tracks, but they don’t overdo it.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, it all sounds quite entertaining.<\/p>\n
